Shelf life, Cake care, storage & Plant Based information

Fuss Free cakes - Your cake will be perfectly fine wrapped or in an air tight container, in ambient temperature and out of direct sunlight for 3 to 5 days.
Initially your cake will last longer wrapped and in an airtight container in the fridge (3-5 days) however the quality will be compromised, meaning the buttercream will be hard and the sponge may become dry.

Celebration Cakes - Initially your cake will last longer wrapped and in an airtight container in the fridge (4-6 days) however the quality will be compromised, meaning the buttercream will be hard and the sponge may become dry.
These cakes will need to be stored in the fridge, due to the amount of buttercream in and around the cake it needs more protecting as it may become lopsided if left out.
Cakes can absorb smells from your fridge, please be aware, I find it best to wrap your cake in cling film before placing in the fridge.
Or if you fancy having your cake another day you can wrap and store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3months.

Fondant Cakes - Your cake will be perfectly fine wrapped or in an air tight container, in ambient temperature and out of direct sunlight for 4 to 6 days.
These cakes need to be stored in a cool ambient room, they do not like the fridge! And they it mustn't be in a hot or damp environment. They will sweat and create a slimy layer if they too cold or hot. You can freeze this cake, once sliced up and ensuring it is in an airtight container. The texture of the icing will change once frozen so be cautious. This can be frozen for up to 3 months.

BEST BEFORE DATE / STORAGE CONDITIONS
Your cake is baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event, we cannot guarantee its quality if it’s consumed more than 24 hours after the event. I’d like to remind you that my cakes do not contain additives or preservatives so they will not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes which contain these. Freezing the cake however, preserves the taste of the sponge and icing as much as feasibly possible, but please bear in mind that it will affect the visual appearance of the icing, as condensation will form upon defrosting.
Food hygiene recommendations recommend that food should only be frozen for a maximum of 3 months
If you plan to keep any of the cakes tiers, please advise us what cake boxes you would like to be left on site (so that you can safely transport them the following day). Otherwise I shall remove all cake boxes from the venue to ensure we leave it as tidy as possible.
Fondant cakes should not be refrigerated, as it will cause condensation to form on the surface of the icing. Refrigeration will make cakes become hard and possibly dry.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

During the hotter months I highly recommend the cake to be collected as late as possible to avoid any potential melting. I do my upmost to ensure all measures are taken to stabilise the cake however during heat waves and temperatures above 25 degrees the cake should be kept in an air conditioned room or fridge depending on what icing is used buttercream cakes can be stored in the fridge and fondant cakes cannot). Gazebos become very hot during the summer and cakes can not with stand the heat. I will not be held liable for cakes melting.

BROWNIES;
Brownies will last between 4 to 7 days, wrapped and in an airtight container in the Fridge. They become slightly firmer but still delicious.
Keeping them wrapped and in an airtight container in an ambient room will last between 4 to 5 days.
And again these can be frozen (wrapped and in an airtight container) for up to 3 months.

COOKIES;
Cookies will last between 3 to 5 days (wrapped and in an airtight container), However they will harden slightly over time.
Cookies can actually be frozen! They will last in the freezer up to 3 months (wrapped and in an airtight container)

Plant Based?

Some of my bakes use some ingredients that are not Vegan Certified but do not contain dairy in their ingredients. These ingredients may have come into contact with animal produce during processing.

As I bake in a domestic kitchen that is not a vegan household there may be chances of cross contamination, however I do take extra care to keep certain produce separate.

My bakes are not Vegan Certified.

If you have any queries on the ingredients I use for my Plant Based bakes, I am more than happy to share that information with you.

Vegan foods do not have a legal UK or EU definition regarding what they can and cannot contain.
